Anti-Corrosion Solutions for Steel Structures in Coastal & Tropical High Salt Spray Areas
High humidity and salt spray in coastal Southeast Asia and the Middle East cause rapid corrosion of steel members. Anti-corrosion design directly impacts service life and maintenance cost of warehouses, factories and steel trestles. Many overseas EPC contractors underestimate corrosion risks, leading to coating peeling and rust within a few years after operation. Two widely adopted anti-corrosion methods are hot-dip galvanizing and multi-layer paint coating systems.
Hot-dip galvanizing: Metallurgically bonded zinc layer, excellent salt spray resistance, ideal for bracing, handrails and outdoor components.
Coating system: Sa2.5 blast cleaning + primer + intermediate coat + topcoat, using epoxy, polyurethane or fluorocarbon paint for heavy-duty columns and beams. Coating thickness and specifications must be tailored to local salt category, temperature and rainfall. Surface preparation and painting conditions are strictly controlled in factory. Huizhou Hongsheng Steel Structure Co., Ltd. customizes anti-corrosion packages for different climate zones. We provide integrated services including design, Tekla detailing, fabrication, corrosion treatment, shipment and on-site installation. Our steel members comply with GB, ASTM, EN, BS and AS standards, delivering durable steel structures for coastal overseas industrial projects.
